C-K Safe Communities Coalition has been active in offering numerous training and information programs to area employers since 2001.  In partnership with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, the Coalition has engaged over 60 area employers in the WSIB’s successful Safe Communities Incentive Program (SCIP.)  The Community-Run SCIP program is entering its 5^th year, and has facilitated this successful workplace injury prevention program.  Area employers have received more than $550,000 in rebates from the WSIB for participating in SCIP.  The Coalition also provides extended training and workplace health and safety resources to participating employers that include professional advice, resources, sample policies and procedures and a safety video lending library.
