The R-U
SAFE C-K committee is dedicated to reducing
predictable & preventable injuries & deaths on
the roadways of the Municipality of
Chatham-Kent.
Mission Statement:
The R-U
SAFE C-K committee is a group of volunteers and
representatives from industry, health, business,
and law enforcement working together to raise
awareness and educate the citizens of
Chatham-Kent about road user safety issues. It
first began road safety initiatives in 1996
through the guidance and influence of regional
planners with the Ontario Ministry of
Transportation.
Objectives:
- To
identify and provide current information on
road user safety issues specific to the
community.
- To
create, coordinate and participate in
locally identified initiatives on road user
safety for the citizens of the Municipality
of Chatham-Kent.
- To
work collaboratively with community partners
on project specific initiatives.
- To
support the development of public policies
that reduce risks associated with road user
safety issues within the Municipality of
Chatham-Kent.
- To
reduce the incidence of injury and death on
the roadways of the Municipality of
Chatham-Kent.
